Exercise 4: Word Associations

Use a mind-map or spider diagram to generate associations based on one

of the following concepts:

● CUTTING

● HIDE

● WOBBLE

● GROW

● SEED

Although there is an option to also choose a word that relates to my current practise, I do enjoy working with something random that I wouldn't normally focus on. I like random word generators or prompts as a starting point and then brainstorming ideas.

With that in mind, I chose the word cutting.

I've never really been too motivated by spider-diagrams. I can sometimes use them if I am wanting to put thoughts down that are not yet visual, otherwise I would work in an alternative way. It's ok as a thought dump, to let the mind go in different directions, and sure, perhaps this can sometimes be helpful in finding something that sparks inspiration to further interrogate thoughts that could be potential ideas.

For me, this exercise, along with a few others in this part feel to be another repeat from previous courses. I don't have much more to add on creating spider-diagrams or mind maps. I didn't feel inspired to create visuals.
